For a couple living in Delhi, travel is not the question. The real questions are which of the many registered clinics in the city to trust, and how to fit 6 to 10 appointments around two working lives. This page covers the money side of both.
Because our clinic is in Delhi, the figures here are exactly what a Delhi couple pays us. You will not see a travel line or a stay line. You will see the costs every legal surrogacy carries. These are the surrogate's pregnancy care, her 36-month insurance, delivery, certificates and the parentage order.
Delhi has the largest number of registered surrogacy clinics in North India, which gives you room to compare. Use the tables below as a checklist. Hold every other quote you collect, ours included, against the same lines before you decide.
What the Delhi surrogacy package pays for
₹4–5 lakhSurrogacy treatment package
- Consultations and treatment planning
- IVF to create embryos (stimulation, egg collection, lab work)
- Embryo freezing
- Embryo transfer to the surrogate
- Surrogate medical screening
Your final figure depends on the patient's condition, such as egg reserve, earlier treatment and how many good embryos form. It is given to you in writing before anything starts.
Lines that appear only if your case needs them
Many Delhi couples never see these charges. When you compare quotes from different Delhi clinics, check whether each one lists these items or quietly leaves them out.
| Additional IVF cycle | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,00,000 |
| Additional embryo transfer (up to 3 attempts allowed) | ₹50,000 – ₹1,00,000 |
| Donor eggs (when medically certified) | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,50,000 |
| Donor sperm (when medically certified) | ₹25,000 – ₹65,000 |

Legal process costs on top of the package
Every altruistic surrogacy in India includes these items, whichever city you are treated in. A quote that skips them is not showing you the full amount.

| Delivery (normal) | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,00,000 |

Delhi families who have been through it
-
After years of IVF, Ritu and Anand turned to surrogacy. They valued that the doctor was candid from the start that success could not be promised. The legal process took time, but every step was done by the book.

Shalini and Deepak travelled from Kolkata to Delhi for treatment. One coordinator kept a single checklist for their travel, certificates, IVF and delivery, so they always knew the next step.

Comparing Delhi quotes line by line
Two Delhi clinics can quote very different headline figures for the same treatment. The gap usually comes from what each figure leaves out, not from the medical work itself. Ask every clinic to fill in the same rows.
| Line to check | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Embryo transfers | How many transfers are included? The law allows up to three attempts with the same surrogate. |
| Surrogate insurance | Is the 36-month policy in the quote, and who buys it? |
| Pregnancy care | Are the surrogate's check-ups, scans and medicines for nine months included? |
| Delivery | Which hospital, and does the figure cover a caesarean if one is needed? |
| Legal work | Are the medical board, authority certificates and parentage order included? |
| Tests | Are your own tests and the surrogate's screening charged separately? |
Once the rows match, the comparison becomes fair. A lower total with missing rows is not a saving.
A visit calendar that never leaves the city
Most Delhi couples make 6 to 10 visits over the whole process. Most of them take under two hours, so you rarely lose a full working day.
- First consultationThe doctor reads your history and reports and checks whether surrogacy is the right step.
- Tests and screeningBlood tests and scans for you, and medical screening of the surrogate.
- CertificatesYour advocate files for the medical indication and eligibility certificates. This stage needs paperwork more than clinic time.
- Stimulation scansShort morning visits while the wife takes injections to grow eggs.
- Egg collectionA half-day visit. The wife rests for the rest of that day.
- Embryo transferThe embryo is placed in the surrogate's uterus. The intending parents may come, but they need no recovery time.
- Pregnancy follow-upReviews through the surrogate's pregnancy, and then the delivery.
Taking leave from work
Only one day in the whole plan needs real leave: egg collection. Block that day for the wife, and ask the husband to be free that morning too, since a fresh sample is usually needed.
The other visits are short. Tell us your office hours when you book, and we will try to fit consultations and scans around them. Procedure days are fixed by the treatment calendar, so plan those first.
Where the money goes in IVF surrogacy
Most surrogacy in India today is IVF surrogacy. The embryo is made in the lab, usually from the couple's own eggs and sperm, and placed in the surrogate's uterus. She carries the pregnancy but is not genetically related to the child.
The package pays for the IVF part. That means stimulation and egg collection for the wife, the lab work, freezing the embryos and the transfer to the surrogate. It also covers the surrogate's medical screening before any transfer.
Everything after a positive pregnancy test sits in the legal process table. Her antenatal care runs for about nine months. Her insurance runs for 36 months. The court order for parentage comes at the end. Reading the two tables together gives you the full picture.
Low cost, but still legal
A low cost surrogacy package is fine. A package that is low because it pays the surrogate a fee is not. The Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021 allows only her medical expenses, prescribed expenses such as loss of wages, and 36 months of insurance. Any other payment is commercial surrogacy, which is a criminal offence.
Walk away from any Delhi offer that mentions a "surrogate fee", promises a result, or offers to choose the baby's sex. Read our page on surrogacy law in India if you want the rules in one place.
Check eligibility before you spend
Surrogacy is open to a legally married Indian couple with a certified medical need. An Indian widow or divorcee aged 35 to 45 may also apply. Age limits, the no-surviving-child rule and the District Medical Board certificate all apply. Spend ten minutes on the eligibility rules before you pay for any test.
If you are unsure, a surrogacy consultation at our Delhi clinic can settle it in one visit.
