The surrogacy law of 2021 changed a great deal in Gujarat, but it did not change IVF. Couples in Ahmedabad can still choose IVF at any centre registered under the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021, in their own city or elsewhere.
Coming to Delhi from Ahmedabad is one of the shorter long-distance journeys to our clinic. The flight takes about 1 hour 35 minutes, and the Rajdhani Express 13 to 14 hours.
So for couples who choose us, the IVF cost in Ahmedabad terms is our Delhi cost plus a few trips. Tests and early scans can be done at a lab in Ahmedabad and shared on WhatsApp for review. The doctor then sends a written estimate, so you know the test tube baby cost for your case before you travel.
What one cycle costs, item by item
These are the charges an Ahmedabad couple pays at our Delhi clinic. Most of the spread comes from the medicine dose, which depends on age and egg reserve.

| Pre-IVF testsHormones, AMH, infection screening, semen analysis | ₹7,000 – ₹18,000 |

Know your figure before you fly
Send your Ahmedabad test reports on WhatsApp. The doctor reviews them and replies with an itemised written estimate.
Extras, only when your reports call for them
None of these is automatic. The doctor adds ICSI, freezing, PGT or a sperm retrieval procedure only when your tests show a reason.
| Item | When it applies | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| ICSI | Low sperm count or motility, or earlier failed fertilisation | ₹20,000 – ₹50,000 |
| Blastocyst culture (day 5) | Growing embryos to day 5 before transfer | ₹10,000 – ₹25,000 |
| Embryo freezing | When extra good embryos are available | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 |
| Embryo or egg storage, per year | After the first year of freezing | ₹5,000 – ₹15,000 |
| Frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle | Using a frozen embryo in a later cycle | ₹40,000 – ₹80,000 |
| Assisted hatching | Some repeated-failure or frozen-embryo cases | ₹10,000 – ₹25,000 |
| Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) | Only when medically advised | ₹75,000 – ₹3,00,000 |
| TESA / PESA (surgical sperm retrieval) | No sperm in the semen sample | ₹30,000 – ₹60,000 |
| Hysteroscopy or laparoscopy | If the uterus or tubes need treatment first | ₹40,000 – ₹1,00,000 |
| Donor egg programme | Very low AMH or repeated poor egg quality | ₹70,000 – ₹1,80,000 |
| Donor sperm | When no usable sperm is available | ₹5,000 – ₹15,000 |
IUI and egg freezing prices
For some couples, IUI is a sensible step before IVF. Women who want to delay pregnancy may ask about egg freezing instead.
| Treatment | Includes | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| IUI, per cycle | Including washed sperm preparation | ₹10,000 – ₹25,000 |
| Egg freezing (one cycle) | Stimulation, collection and freezing; storage extra | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,50,000 |
Planning the cycle from Ahmedabad
Most of the early work happens at home. The trips to Delhi are tied to the steps that need the clinic.
| Stage | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Fertility tests | Ahmedabad | Hormone tests, AMH, semen analysis and a pelvic scan, sent on WhatsApp |
| Consultation | Delhi | Examination, treatment plan and written estimate |
| Stimulation | Both | Daily injections for about ten to twelve days; the doctor decides which scans can be local |
| Egg collection | Delhi | A short procedure under anaesthesia; the wife rests that day |
| Embryo transfer | Delhi | A few days later, or in a later month with frozen embryos |
| Pregnancy test | Ahmedabad | A blood test about two weeks after transfer |
Plan to be in Delhi for the last part of stimulation through egg collection. A frozen transfer later needs only a short trip.
The husband usually needs two trips: the consultation and the day of egg collection, when he gives a fresh semen sample. Ask the doctor whether freezing a sample in advance could save one of them.
ICSI: when the extra cost makes sense
ICSI places one sperm directly into each mature egg. It is mainly advised when the sperm count or movement is low, or when eggs failed to fertilise in a past cycle.
The ICSI cost on its own is ₹20,000 – ₹50,000. If your semen analysis is normal, the doctor may not suggest it at all. Read more on the ICSI page.
What the ART Act means for the IVF centre you pick
Every IVF centre in India, in Gujarat or Delhi, must be registered on the National Registry under the ART Act. Registration has to be renewed every five years.
The Act allows ART services to women above 21 and below 50, and men above 21 and below 55. In May 2026, the Delhi High Court held that this limit applies when treatment starts. Donor eggs or sperm can come only from a registered ART bank.
Ask any centre for its ART registration before you begin, and ask for a written itemised estimate as well. Our article on what the ART Act means for patients covers more.
Conditions that change the estimate
Two couples paying for the same cycle can end up with different bills. The medical picture is usually the reason.
With a low AMH, the doctor may need higher medicine doses, and fewer eggs may be collected. With PCOS, the ovaries can over-respond, so the doctor watches closely for OHSS and may freeze all embryos for a later transfer. Endometriosis or blocked tubes can also shape the plan.
Your Ahmedabad reports show which of these apply. Our articles on PCOS and IVF and low AMH explain more.
If the first cycle does not work
No clinic can promise a result. Chances depend mainly on age, egg reserve, sperm quality and embryo quality, and the doctor explains realistic odds after your tests.
If embryos were frozen, the next attempt may need only a frozen embryo transfer (₹40,000 – ₹80,000). That costs less than a new cycle and means one short trip. If not, the doctor reviews what happened before planning again. See what to do after a failed IVF cycle.
