Ask five Delhi IVF centres for a test tube baby price and you will likely get five different figures. Some include medicines, some do not. Some count ICSI or embryo freezing in the headline, others add them later. The number on its own tells you very little.
So this page splits one IVF cycle into its parts. Each row below is a separate charge, with the reason it exists. If you are comparing quotes, line them up against these rows rather than against a single total.
Living in Delhi helps in a quieter way too. Your visits are short trips across the city, so the main cost of IVF here is money, not leave from work. Most of the cycle can be planned around office hours, with one morning to keep fully free.

Share the reports you already have on WhatsApp. The doctor reviews them, tells you which rows apply to you, and gives you an itemised estimate in writing before treatment starts.
Add-ons a Delhi quote may or may not include
Nothing here is added by default. The doctor explains why before any of them is added to your bill.

What IUI or an egg freezing cycle costs in Delhi
IUI is sometimes tried before IVF when the tubes are open and sperm counts are reasonable. Egg freezing suits women who want to delay pregnancy for personal or medical reasons.
| Treatment | Includes | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| IUI, per cycle | Including washed sperm preparation | ₹10,000 – ₹25,000 |
| Egg freezing (one cycle) | Stimulation, collection and freezing; storage extra | ₹1,50,000 – ₹2,50,000 |
How many clinic days one cycle takes
A Delhi couple usually needs six to eight short visits for one IVF cycle. Only egg collection needs a free morning and a quiet afternoon.
| Stage | Visits | Time away from work |
|---|---|---|
| Consultation and tests | 1 to 2 | A morning each |
| Stimulation scans (about 10 to 12 days of injections) | 3 to 4 | Under an hour each |
| Egg collection | 1 | Half a day, then rest at home |
| Embryo transfer | 1 | A short visit |
| Pregnancy blood test, about two weeks later | 0 to 1 | Can be done at a lab near home |
The day-by-day detail is in our IVF process guide.
Why Delhi IVF prices rarely match
Most of the difference between Delhi quotes is about packaging. One centre may quote the IVF procedure alone. Another may include medicines, a blastocyst culture and one year of embryo freezing.
Ask each centre three plain questions. Are stimulation medicines inside the price? Is ICSI included, or added if needed? What does a frozen embryo transfer cost if the first transfer does not work? With those answers, a fair IVF price comparison becomes possible.
Fewer trips with shared reports
You do not have to come to the clinic for every blood test. Routine tests can be done at a lab near your home or office, and the report sent on WhatsApp for the doctor to read.
When a report is ready the same day, the next step can often be decided the same evening. That saves a visit, which matters when both partners work. Our post on tests before IVF lists what is usually checked.
When going straight to IVF makes sense
Not every couple needs to try simpler treatment first. IVF is often the first step when both tubes are blocked, when sperm counts are very low, or when the wife's egg reserve is falling. Age matters too, since waiting through several IUI cycles costs time.
In those cases, spending on IUI first may delay the treatment that has a real chance. The doctor weighs this with you after the first tests. Our post on blocked tubes and IVF explains one common example.
Risks a price list does not show
IVF is a routine treatment, but it is still a medical one. Knowing the main risks helps you read any estimate with clear eyes.
- Ovarian hyperstimulation (OHSS): the ovaries over-respond to medicines, causing swelling and discomfort. Careful dosing and monitoring scans lower the risk.
- Multiple pregnancy: transferring more than one embryo raises the chance of twins, which carries more risk for mother and babies.
- Ectopic pregnancy: rarely, the pregnancy settles outside the uterus. Early scans after a positive test check for this.
A clinic that rushes past these to talk about price is missing part of the conversation. Ask your doctor how each risk is managed in your case.
What decides your own bill
Four things move the final figure most. They are the wife's age, her egg reserve, sperm quality and how many embryos are frozen. A low AMH can mean higher medicine doses. A low sperm count can mean ICSI.
The same four factors decide the chance of success. Chances of pregnancy rest mainly on those same factors, with embryo quality added. The doctor explains your realistic chances once your tests are in.
